Navigating the jingle bell blues
Lights are twinkling, halls are decked and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. It might look like you’re walking in a winter wonderland. But when you’re not feeling your best, holidays can feel like a bit of a drag.
Lights are twinkling, halls are decked and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. It might look like you’re walking in a winter wonderland. But when you’re not feeling your best, holidays can feel like a bit of a drag. A survey by Mental Health UK found that 80% of us can struggle a bit more at this time of year1.
Let’s be real, there’s a lot going on during the holiday season. But you’re not the only one feeling this way. Just getting together with your loved ones, having a chat and taking take the pressure off can help you get in to a merry mood.
An important gift
This holiday season, give yourself a gift − being kind to yourself.
It’s a good idea to help the people closest to you understand the best way to support you this festive season. Share your feelings about the festivities with them, let them know what’s bringing you joy and tell them what you’re finding difficult. And as always, remember to2,3:
- Find some quiet time for yourself
- Take a winter walk
- Eat a balanced diet (there’s always room for treats)
- Drink sensibly
